Aberdeen’s All For Alex (AA4A) fundraising event

The Aberdeen community has formed a committee in affiliation with Aberdeen Rugby League Football Club called 'Aberdeen’s All For Alex (AA4A)' to enable funds to be raised for Alex McKinnon’s rehabilitation and ongoing care.

Born in Aberdeen and playing his junior football for the Aberdeen Tigers, Newcastle Knights forward Alex McKinnon tragically suffered a spinal cord injury in Round 3 of the 2014 NRL Season.

The AA4A committee will be holding a major formal fundraising event at St Joseph’s High School where Alex commenced his secondary education, in Alex’s home town on November 22.  This event will be hosted by Ray Hadley (OAM) and represented by special guests Wayne Bennett, Matt Johns, Marc Glanville and Michael Hagan. The night will feature an auction, live music and entertainment including Darryl Bowen performing “Alex (Day by Day). A three course meal and beer, wine and soft drink will also be provided.

The RiseForAlex Fund was established to provide relief to Alex and raises funds to provide Alex with ongoing financial and medical support, allowing Alex to focus on his recovery and rehabilitation.  All funds raised by the AA4A committee will be contributed to the RiseForAlex Fund.
